A trailer for Mortal Kombat 11‘s new DLC Aftermath was revealed earlier today, and for a brief moment it showed players what happened to Motaro, the centaur mini-boss from Mortal Kombat 3. Motaro was the first mini-boss in Mortal Kombat to not be a member of the four-armed Shokan race, and Sheeva was the first Shokan players were allowed access to without the use of cheats.
Sheeva and Motaro have been pitted against each other as rivals ever since they were both introduced to the Mortal Kombat franchise, a relationship which was mirrored (in a slightly skewed fashion) in the oft-derided sequel movie Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. The original timeline of the Mortal Kombat plot, before it became increasingly convoluted during the events of Mortal Kombat’s 2011 reboot, X, and 11, saw Motaro disappearing after the events of Mortal Kombat 3, presumably killed by Sheeva, only to show up at the pyramid (along with every other fighter from the series’ past) in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. However, it seems like previous alterations to the timeline have changed things, and not to Motaro’s benefit.

The trailer for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, a new DLC pack containing story, characters, and content for Mortal Kombat 11, showed off some gameplay footage of Sheeva in action, and in it players got a brief glimpse at what looks like one of the character’s fight intro scenes. Sheeva is holding the severed head of Motaro as she approaches the battlefield, and then she rips it apart in vicious fury before the fight presumably begins, showing her enemies just exactly what could happen to them if they think about crossing Shokan warriors. Check out the clip via Mortal Kombat‘s YouTube channel below, timestamped to the proper moment:
This is some pretty definite proof that Motaro is dead in this version of the Mortal Kombat timeline, but due to the circuitous and time-breaking nature of Mortal Kombat 11’s story and plot it is still possible for Motaro to show up at some point in the future. If he does, the centaur surely won’t be happy with Sheeva using his head as a entertainment piece and their old feud will likely start back up once again.
It’s nice to see characters from older Mortal Kombat games make their way into the present-day iteration of the franchise, but if NetherRealm does decide to ever include more of Motaro than just his head players would likely appreciate it if the character returned in his full centaur form, not the abysmal two-legged version from Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. For now, players can at least find enjoyment (and likely some closure) in Sheeva’s Mortal Kombat 11 fight intro, and hope new fighters won’t start spamming her ground pound all over again.

Ever since the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 fans have wondered what’s next for the series, with years of GTA Online updates going by. There have been plenty of rumors out there for Grand Theft [...]
Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Grand Theft Auto 5.
There are three separate endings to Grand Theft Auto 5′s single-player story, each with a very different outcome. Players, in the role of GTA 5 protagonist Franklin Clinton, must choose to kill other protagonist Michael De Santa or Trevor Philips, or to team up with both to take down every threat around them.
Prior to the ending, GTA 5′s protagonists rob the Union Depository bank of $200 million in a mission called “The Big Score,” after which Franklin goes home to cool down from the many, many arguments that unfolded during the high-profile heist. Antagonists Steve Haines and Devin Weston approach Franklin, each ordering him to kill one of his comrades. Haines, an agent of the FBI-equivalent FIB who has been coercing the protagonists into working for him, wishes Trevor dead on account of his unpredictability, which makes him a liability. Billionaire Weston failed to have Michael’s family killed as revenge for the accidental death of his lawyer, so he enlists Franklin to finish the deed instead. Franklin’s third option is to ignore the antagonists, enlisting Michael and Trevor’s help to take down Haines, Weston, and several other enemies.

It’s not entirely clear which GTA 5 ending is canon. Fans agree the third ending, “Option C,” seems the most logical, since it aligns with Franklin’s character and the outcomes of previous GTA game endings. Additionally, elements of GTA Online – parts of which take place after GTA 5 – seem to reference the events of the third ending. Still, Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any ending as guaranteed “official,” so each one is a legitimate outcome for the campaign.
GTA 5: Ending A (“Kill Trevor”) Explained
If players follow Haines’ request to kill Trevor, Franklin arranges a meeting with him. They begin discussing recent events, and Franklin (perhaps looking to justify his choice to carry out Haines’ wishes) says Trevor’s wildness will get him and Michael killed. He pulls a gun on Trevor, but Trevor escapes in his truck. Michael arrives to help during the chase, ramming Trevor’s truck into an oil tank. Injured, Trevor falls into the pooling oil and berates Franklin and Micheal for betraying him. Either Franklin or Michael then shoots at Trevor, igniting the oil and burning him alive. Michael rants about Trevor’s shortcomings, then he and Franklin agree that, “Surviving is winning, […] whatever it takes.” The GTA 5 Union Depository heist’s earnings are split between the two of them.
GTA 5: Ending B (“Kill Michael”) Explained
Things begin similarly if the player chooses to kill Michael, with Franklin arranging a meeting between the two. Michael gets off a call with his wife, celebrating the fact that he has money and his family back, but Franklin begins to explain his reasoning for what he’s about to do to Michael. He says, “We both know this […] ain’t over,” meaning they won’t be able to get away with the heist if they don’t appease Haines and Weston. Michael escapes to the Palmer-Taylor Power Station, and Franklin chases him down.
Knowing Michael betrayed Trevor in the past, Franklin explains he felt used by Michael and like he could be betrayed any day, since “People don’t […] change.” Michael then says, “You did! You! Two-bit gangster gone three-bit,” meaning Franklin has gone from a simple thug to a full-on, scheming and backstabbing criminal. After Franklin pushes Michael over the side of a tower, players have the option of dropping or saving him. Even if they choose save, he’ll headbutt Franklin, forcing him to drop Michael to his death. Franklin then calls GTA 5′s Lamar Davis, an old close friend of his, as he walks away.

Afterwards, both Trevor and Michael’s family shun Franklin, knowing he was likely the one who killed Michael. Since Michael still has family around (unlike Trevor), his cut from the Union Depository heist is still taken out, rather than being split between Franklin and Trevor.
GTA 5: Ending C (“Deathwish”) Explained
If players choose “The Third Way,” Franklin consults Lester Crest, GTA 5′s heist mastermind. He devises a plan to lure Haines’ FIB agents and Weston’s Merryweather mercenaries to the metal foundry where the protagonists are supposedly melting down the gold from the heist. After taking out the soldiers, the team splits up to tie up loose ends: Trevor kills Haines, Michael kills an old enemy of Franklin’s named Stretch, and Franklin kills Triad leader Wei Cheng, who had a feud with Trevor and Michael earlier in the game. Once this is finished, Trevor stuffs Weston in the trunk of his own car and drives it to a cliff side in the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness. The three push his car off the cliff, and the money from the heist is split among them.

It looks like Rockstar isn’t done giving away free money in Grand Theft Auto Online yet, as the company has once again stated than anyone who logs in during the month will receive $500,000 for free. This is a deal Rockstar introduced to Grand Theft Auto Online back in April, and one which saw a curious glitch that gave some players multiple free money login bonuses, allowing them to accrue millions of in-game currency with basically no effort at all.
While the current state of Grand Theft Auto Online is one of a game under siege by random alien gang attacks, there is also an undercurrent of financial concerns being shared by many players. Some think that Rockstar is purposefully tanking Grand Theft Auto Online’s economy so that it will be easier to convince players to move to Grand Theft Auto 6’s online mode when the time comes, and many are just sick of how expensive some of the in-game items have become.

Rockstar must know that some of their higher-end items are ridiculously expensive for players to acquire, and that may be part of the reason they are repeating last month’s free Grand Theft Auto Online money login bonus, one which gives players half a million dollars for doing nothing but logging in to the game. Check out the official announcement from Rockstar’s Twitter account below, which once again states that this will be a one-time gift, although last month’s GTA Online money glitches give cause for some doubt to that statement.
According to Rockstar’s official website, there is also a discount on futuristic weapons currently going on, with sales like “40% off the Up-N-Atomizer, Unholy Hellbringer, and Widowmaker.” Additionally, nightclubs are on sale for 40% off, and Grand Theft Auto Online players are also currently able to earn triple the normal amount of monetary and RP awards for Business Battles.
Despite the hard work of alien eradicator teams like Impotent Rage, Grand Theft Auto Online is still filled with all kinds of dangerous and expensive activities for players to engage in, and free money is always appreciated whether it’s for buying a new vehicle or just for stocking up on ammunition to take on the current aggressive extraterrestrial menace. While many players are likely hoping for similar glitches which might allow the extra half a million dollars to drop into their Maze bank account multiple times, hopefully this month will see everyone who logs in to Grand Theft Auto Online getting their payouts at least once.

The alien invaders of Grand Theft Auto Online have just made a new enemy in the form of a space-age band of Reddit users calling themselves “Impotent Rage.” Just last week, Rockstar Games’ ever-popular online multiplayer sandbox found itself besieged by a group of multi-colored extraterrestrials looking to cause (even more) havoc among the citizens of Grand Theft Auto V’s Los Santos.
These invaders – who are actually just Grand Theft Auto Online players dressing up in alien costumes and forming alien-themed gangs – strike without warning, causing various crimes and even abducting other players as per the usual sci-fi movie conventions. While these otherworldly troublemakers have become a popular addition to the game’s online community in the short time since they first appeared, it was only a matter of time before a small number of GTA Online’s more human inhabitants banded together to take back their streets from the little green (and sometimes purple) men… and that day is today.

Earlier this morning, Reddit user u/wumziefromtwitch posted a video clip to Grand Theft Auto V’s subreddit of a small gang of players he is a part of called Impotent Rage, named after a parody superhero of GTA V lore. This trio of identical warriors roam the Grand Theft Auto Online game world in a blue and purple van, dressed in matching uniforms of the aforementioned hero and wielding the ever-appropriate-for-the-situation laser guns, and wait for the aliens to come into their path to enact some space-age vigilante justice. When asked why they have decided to do this in the comments of the post, u/wumziefromtwitch replies that they are “just a few bros that have money and time, and [they’re] down to clown on some aliens.” Check out a clip of Impotent Rage dispatching an alien in GTA Online below:
Even before this week’s alien invasion, Grand Theft Auto Online has featured a number of similar silly Easter Eggs, ranging from Bigfoot sightings to the return of Grand Theft Auto V’s resident drug dealer Gerald in a series of bonus missions. Little events like these have helped Grand Theft Auto Online remain one of the most popular online multiplayer games in recent memory, even in the face of a number of GTAO servers crashing in recent months.
With the recent coronavirus pandemic forcing the majority of the world to stay at home, online communities like the one present in Grand Theft Auto Online have grown increasingly relevant in the past few months, and fun mini-events like the game’s recent alien invasion and Impotent Rage’s response to it add in some much-needed oddball fun in these troubled times. U/wumziefromtwitch says that his group isn’t looking to add any additional members, so players shouldn’t expect the battle between the followers of Impotent Rage and their extraterrestrial enemies to escalate into a full-blown Independence Day-style war for Earth, but their antics should still prove amusing for fans of Grand Theft Auto Online.

As the coronavirus outbreak continues to keep people communicating through Zoom, adding backgrounds has become one of the easiest ways to add something different to conversations. For users who wish they could cast a spell and rid the world of the virus, a Harry Potter digital background might be a good choice.
Zoom backgrounds have become increasingly popular over recent weeks and as more users have flocked to the digital communication platform. Though some users have decided to use competing apps, due to security concerns like Zoom-Bombing, it still remains one of the more popular choices, and one of the reasons is third-party background support. With almost an unlimited choice as to what can be added in the background, Zoom has created an opportunity for users to be where they wish they could be, rather than stuck at home.

With Harry Potter having such a large fan base, it is no wonder people wish they could be a part of that universe. Countless websites and Twitter accounts have been sharing Harry Potter-themed photos for others to use as their background, including Twitter user ‘socially distant dave‘ who has shared photos of the Harry Potter Studio Tour in England. This is just one example of how the Harry Potter community is coming together to keep the magic alive and connect with each other during these difficult times, with many using the official ‘Harry Potter At Home’ line as a hashtag to share what they have.
Hot To Download & Add Harry Potter Backgrounds
To use the images shared above, or any others you want, log into Zoom and access the settings by clicking on the profile picture in the top-right corner. After this, select “Settings’ from the drop-down menu and then on “Virtual Background” and the plus symbol. This will allow you to upload the virtual background of your choice. For reference, backgrounds work best when the image is of one solid color and different from your skin tone. Otherwise, you may have to make some adjustments to make the image usable, such as creating your own green screen.
Virtual Backgrounds are a fun way to create a fresh environment and bring something new to what have quickly become routine Zoom chats. They can help to create a theme night for you and your friends, or just give some sense of escape from a real-world environment that’s difficult to escape from. Right now, society might feel a little like Harry during his time living under the stairs, but hopefully these Zoom backgrounds will be able to make the situation feel a little less claustrophobic. If nothing else, they will add a nice touch of magic to your next Zoom call.

Elon Musk, the head of such companies as Tesla and SpaceX, is Elon Musk-ing again, this time by seemingly intentionally tanking Tesla’s stock price. It’s hard to say if his erratic Twitter behavior is part of a joke of some kind, but honestly, no one knows why Elon Musk does basically anything.
The brilliant engineer has been a consistent part of the news cycle lately due to his unpredictable combination of hot takes on the coronavirus pandemic, and meaningful contributions to help medical professionals. Some weeks, he’s leveraging the engineering capabilities of Tesla’s manufacturing facilities to turn car parts into ventilators. Other weeks, he’s on a tweet rant about how we need to reopen the country because we’ll see “probably close to zero new cases” of the coronavirus by the end of the month. That was about twelve days ago and we still see 20,000 per day, by the way.

This latest example of him being the genius buffoon that he is comes from a Twitter post that simply read “Tesla stock price is too high imo”. Naturally, this led to an abrupt, precipitous decline in Tesla’s stock, infuriating investors of the publicly-traded company. It prompted the immediate selling off of millions of shares. Losing that much over just one unnecessary comment has to be upsetting. As Vox points out, it probably is actually too high, given that it’s up by roughly 70% year-over-year after the drop. Still, it’s hard not to wonder why he would do this.
The Aftermath of this Nonsensical Tweet
It’s possible Elon Musk is somehow oblivious to the consequences of his tweets. Perhaps he just forgets to factor these things in. The range of reactions from investors is wild. Some people wonder if he did this as some kind of joke, and if so, what’s to stop him from doing something like this again? Others are concerned that it’s a legitimate message driven by information he has about the status or future of Tesla. People who aren’t concerned about Elon Musk specifically but do have money tied to Tesla stock are worried that these sorts of public messages about the stock could put him in legal trouble, adding even more liability to their investments.
Are you high? The hell is happening with you recently
Judging by his tweets after his comments on Tesla’s stock, Elon doesn’t plan to do things that make sense any time soon. Four minutes later, he posted “Now give people back their FREEDOM”, followed by multiple tweets of the lyrics to The American National Anthem. About a minute before, he posted that he was selling his physical possessions and his home. It’s probably in everyone’s best interest to just stop paying attention to him until news spreads of him doing something helpful again.

Game Awards showrunner and gaming journalist Geoff Keighley has just announced the first round of publishers participating in his brand-new Summer Game Fest event, a show that could very easily replace the long-troubled E3 as the premier video game announcement venue. As many know, this year’s E3 was canceled back in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, leaving a void in the world of gaming media when it comes to the time-honored tradition of announcing upcoming blockbuster titles.
Even before that fateful announcement, however, E3 found itself wrought with worries regarding major companies like PlayStation manufacturer Sony choosing to opt-out of the event in recent years, alongside a troublesome security breach in 2019 that severely strained the show’s image. In fact, many have begun to question whether E3 is necessary at all, with its aforementioned cancellation this year adding more fuel to that discussion. Enter Geoff Keighley, who has just unveiled his own planned E3 replacement after choosing to forgo the event himself this year.

Earlier today, Keighley posted a number of bombshell images on his Twitter page. The first is a heartfelt letter announcing his new Summer Game Fest, a collection of major game announcement events for the months between May and August, as well as describing the excitement many gaming enthusiasts feel during the traditional wave of summer announcements provided by the likes of E3, himself included. In the second, he unveils a promotional image for what he calls “Phase 1” of the Summer Game Fest announcement lineup, featuring major publishers and platforms such as Steam, Activision, EA, and even Sony. You can check out both tweets below:
As a longtime gaming journalist and host of The Game Awards for over 5 years, alongside such ventures as G4’s former gaming-based talk show G4tv, Geoff Keighley has served on the forefront of the effort to bring video games into the mainstream limelight, in addition to drawing attention to smaller independent efforts. Just last year, he worked with Steam to introduce The Game Festival, a two-day event in which Steam users are provided access a multitude of free demos to upcoming indie titles both large and small, primarily by publishers who can’t attend a larger event for financial reasons.
Now, Geoff Keighley is looking to use his talents to usher in a new gaming event beyond anything he’s done before in the form of this year’s Summer Game Fest. Only time will tell if this new event can surpass E3 as gaming’s premiere summer announcement showcase, but with the latter’s diminishing relevance among publishers and recent cancelation this year, added with Keighley’s pedigree and the big names – including ones that choose to skip E3 in recent years like Sony – involved with just this first phase alone, it seems quite possible. In any case, thanks to both these big names and Keighley himself, gamers will have a new wave of gaming announcements to look forward to this summer after all when Phase 1 of the first-ever Summer Game Fest kicks off later this month.
